school and people

School has been so slow lately. I just never feel like doing any work lately. In Geology I decided to just look up cat pictures. Right now I'm actually in Tech Theatre, I'm supposed to be doing sound. I had an article due a couple days ago but I still haven't handed it in, not that they take marks off for it being late anyways.
I work today, right after school which is that great but any who,
people aren't as nice as they seem. It's like summer is coming and every ones just fed up with everyone. They've all forgotten their old values and morals and now it's just like a huge free-for-all. But it's hard because it seems a if I am the only who hasn't completely dis concerned everything, except for school work that is. I should probably go now though because I need to start a new sound play.

Have a good afternoon :)

A bunch o' stuff

My dear friend Brea who sits with me in Biology class, asked me the other day what 'LB' means. I told her it means little boy, she said she had no clue and that she had been asking people all day, she thought maybe it meant lover boy or something. Gosh, I love my friends :)

Today, I have to go watch a baseball game. I don't really like baseball all that much, soccer is more my thing. Plus it's a nine year olds game. Oh well I'm sure it'll be fun! haha

Has anyone read The Hunger Games? I've been trying to, I've been stuck on the first chapter for quite a while now. The movie is coming out next and they have an amazing cast!

I just saw the movie Water For Elephants last Tuesday and it was really really good!! I cried a lot, in the theatre, yeah that was sort of embarrassing. That's why I don't go to the theatre much!

Well, tell me whats going on with you guys! Seen any good movies lately? Read any good books? Had anything interesting or funny happen to you?

Lots o' love,
Kayla

I guess he's not a fan of Ron Cannan

In Canada, we have an upcoming election.
I don't really get it haha I mean I do, but it's super confusing!
The States is so much easier to understand :)
Any who, today I was walking home after getting off the bus and this kid that I kind of know/don't really know (if you know what I mean) got off the bus at the same stop. He was a little bit ahead of me and suddenly he stopped and stared at three different election signs for the people running in our district. There was one for the Green Party, one for NDP and another for Conservative. Then finally he looked at the Conservative one with Ron Cannans' name written on it and pulled it out of the ground then stomped on it, picked it up and ran away! It was quite funny and I couldn't stop laughing. I hadn't seen any one do that in public before, especially because he was only fourteen. He must really dislike Ron Cannan!

Water Bottle Words

I've had so many exams lately and now finally I am done them all! No more studying, at least for a little while :) There are so many things that I am excited about lately :)
1. 321 Days until my Europe trip! It's far away but I get excited every time I think about it!
2. 92 Days until Center of Gravity!
This one I am quite excited about because it is the biggest beach festival in (the okanagan?). I'm actually not too sure. Anyways tonight at Tiesto, (I am so very sad that I can not go!!!!) they are announcing the lineup for Center Of Gravity! The two hours I have to wait to find out are going to kill me! Not literally of course.

I've started writing positive words on my water bottle like happiness, love and whatnot, because it's supposed to give you positive energy or something. Anybody have any other interesting ideas like that one? :)

...

I miss when they used to put the film credits at the beginning of films. They did this because it was important to recognize everyone who put work into creating a piece of art. It was more than that too, it was so important that people know and understand the art of film. After all, it didn't just pop out of thin air. But now, the credits scroll at the end because who really wants to read a bunch of names, wouldn't they just skip through to the movie anyways?
Lets blame it on the producers.
They are the ones who have lost value in the work that people do. I hate to see what it's going to be like when all of the great film makers are gone. When it's all only a society filled of people who really don't care about that sort of thing. We lose our history, we lose the people that made a difference in filming history. But I guess it doesn't really matter anyways because film is less and less art and more and more about the less than decent story lines. If you want to make a funny story, write it down. Don't make it into a movie, films are for art.
Soon films won't even need cinematographers.

Telus is evil.

Hi everyone!

This time I have a perfectly legit reason as to why I haven't made a post in a while! I moved a couple weeks ago and telus had problems because we had no conduit to our new house and something or other to do with the fiber optic cables. I was kind of mad, since I use the Internet quite a lot, but there wasn't much I could do about that! So, I finally have Internet :) Yaaay.

I'm not too sure what else I want to write about today, my mind is kind of blank :/ I just got home from work but I figured I'd just let you guys know whats up!

P.S The worst part about not having Internet was that I was not able to read all of your amazing blogs! Can't wait to catch up though :)

The Adjustment Bureau

As I said the other day I went and saw the Adjustment Bureau. It was actually really good. I loved it because it was intense, suspenseful and absolutely everything else that goes with a perfect movie. I like that it was outside of the box or not exactly reality. It leaves you questioning and guessing but at the same time doesn't leave you hanging at all. And then above all it teaches you a really good lesson. Right when you thought you were watching this very unrealistic movie or I suppose if you believe in that sort of thing(secret reality), they go and teach you something very valuable in life.

It was kind of, or no exactly like all those Disney animal movies. You know that this could never really happen because a) animals don't speak and b) you aren't an animal but a lot of them have a lesson at the end. Sometimes it hidden but sometime they outright say it.
Which is why at the end of The Adjustment Bureau, I just sat there in awe thinking "wow they are exactly right" and millions of other things that raced around my head. See this is what I call ingenious, people who come up with things like that! Things that just make you think " so this is what they were getting at the whole time!" it's quite simply amazing. I love a movie that at the end you just can't say anything at all because it was just saw absolutely amazing that you can't say a thing at all, it's just wow!

This was an example of things I get extremely excited about that other people do not. :)

If you have no intent on seeing it, you should at least watch the trailer! :D

Movies!

Tonight I am going to go see The Adjustment Bureau! I think it will be a very good movie! Has anybody seen it? I don't really like Emily Blunt that much, but I don't not like her, so that's okay I guess haha.

I just finished watching Harvey (The 1950's original) I love that movie! It was probably the 100th time watching it, but its just so funny! I saw the play not too long ago too so it was sort of fun to compare the two.

I want to see Unknown so badly! Liam Neeson is amazing! Actually speaking of Liam Neeson, I just watched The Next Three Day two weeks ago. It is now my favourite movie! Paul Higgs is officially on my top three favourite directors of all time! Its absolutely amazing! Russel Crowe and Elisabeth Banks are also spectacular. In my opinion, it is her best movie so far. There are just so many good movies out there, I'll never get to watch them all :(

So guys, what your favourite movie and why? :)

Fa la la it's not Christmas

Wow I really suck at doing those 30 day things!
I think I'm just to busy to commit to something like that haha :)
I found some pretty new photos to look at though! And I am so excited to develop my holga camera! Maybe I can scan a couple for you guys to see once I'm moved considering the scanner is packed up.
Enjoy :)

I actually found this one on google. I use it as my google background :)

Well that's it for now :)

Two

I was a little girl

Alone in my little world

2. Talk about your piercings or tattoos, if you have any.

This one is sort of weird haha. Well I only have my ears pierced, two holes on each side. Maybe I'll get a tattoo someday but it will really have to mean something you know? Because it will be there for the rest of my life! I don't want something that I just really like now, but then again maybe I'll never get a tattoo. Who knows?

I guess to make this a smudge more interesting I'll show you some more pictures I found :)

And fed my house guests bark and leaves

And laughed in my pretty bed of green

Music Now-A-Days...

My walls are bare now, all my pictures have been taken down.
White walls except for the one that's wall papered.

There is this song I really like that I only just discovered yesterday. It is called 9 crimes by Damien Rice. There's just something about very well felt duets that I just fall for every single time.

I'm actually quite disappointed in music now a days. Sure a lot of it is really great to dance to, but a lot of it isn't music anymore. I mean does anyone even listen to the lyrics anymore? Or do they just assume that if the beats hot it must be about all the right things? Well no Avril Lavigne, I don't want to hear about you justifying why you cheated on Derek Whibley.
And I love Enrique but tonight I'm loving you? Yeah...okay...those were the original lyrics...
Dub step is pretty cool, but Britney Spears just kind of ruins it. People who make music, or I guess it's not them so much but the people who create their music that they perform, if they do it to keep up with trends or whats popular, what will give them the number one spot is automatically off my list of good musicians. They should be creating music that they love and for themselves. It's just a bonus if people fall in love with it.
That's one of the reasons why I dislike 75% of all celebrities.

Any who, right now I'm listening to West Coast by Coconut Records You might like it, might not. Share with me one of your favorite 'real' songs :)

I really enjoy this picture :)

Ach glücklichen Tag!

Title- for lack of a better title.

I've been super busy lately! Lots of projects and such. Plus I'm moving so I have that to worry about as well.
I'll be re-doing my room too! I've been trying to figure out what I want to do, if you guys have any ideas that would be much appreciated :)

Today in my history class I came across this blog that I really enjoyed. You guys should check it out              --->LucyPlease. One of the posts that I really like in particular was her latest was "Secrets of building a better blog: part deux".  The things that were mentioned were like a miracle, I swear. I thought that I only thought about these 'blogger etiquette rules'.  Not that there should be etiquette rules but the whole commenting thing should be followed by everyone! :) Blogger world would be much more appreciated by fellow bloggers.

I've always thought having  a couple followers who actually read what you write and enjoy it, is always better than having hundreds of people who follow you, who never read it. And that ladies and gentlemen is the difference between quality and quantity.

Hugs,
Kayla

Bryson

The weirdest thing ever.

A couple nights ago my mom and I were watching American Idol, then when that ended I switched the channel to MTV. My Life as Liz was on and my mom started complaining about how much she disliked the show even though shes never really seen it. Then that's when she saw Bryson. And she was like "Oh, Kayla! I have never seen a guy that would look better with you than him. He is just so perfect for you! I love it!" Then she went on and on about him. I didn't know what to think at first. Take this as an insult or a compliment? I mean he's kind of okay...I guess. I don't know, he's kind of a celebrity(not really) and it was just weird.. Usually when she picks out "suitors" for me they are all a specific kind of type, which is not my type. She wants me to have a boyfriend that's well, I guess amazing at everything. Which is why it completely surprised me when she said Bryson.

And now I am scared that I am going to come home one day and find a huge poster of Bryson tacked up on my wall. My mother is crazy. (Love you mom)

Quotes :)

I have found three quotes this week that I have fallen in love with,

The first one is by Dallas Green on making music
" I don't want to make people dance I want to make them cry"

I really like this one because I find Dallas Green ( from City and Colour and Alexisonfire) really inspiring. He said this when he did an interview for MTV, I believe, and he also said why this was. Dallas explained that it was because when he was happy he had fun, he went out and did things and when he was sad, that was when he wrote his music. I had the pleasure of seeing him live when he, along with the rest of the Alexisonfire band members, opened for Billy Talent and you could just tell that he had so much passion and life in each word that he sung.

I've always believed that you evoke the most emotion out of people when your making them sad or mad.

Second is by M.T Anderson in the book Feed
"You toss something up in the air and you expect it to come back down again."

To me, this means a lot. Or conjures me to think a lot anyways.

The third is actually a quote from a song by Matt Costa
"The castles we built were so tall, they only left us further to fall."

This one, I think, is sort of something all of us face at one point. If you become more and more something you either fall or keep building. And if you keep building you have to be aware of how far you can fall. Because sometimes you will fall...

These have left a lot for me to ponder this week...

Stereotypes

I HATE stereotypes. Hate is a strong word, I do realize that. I never use it except in cases like this
Being a Canadian, I get a lot of questions about dumb things when I go travelling like "Do you ride polar bears?" No, no I do not, I have never even seen a polar bear. Actually I have heard that they are quite viscous.
Here are a couple more stereotypes I have heard recently. -We live in igloos. (Like polar bears, I have never seen one before)
-We do not have telephones (Yes we have Cellphones, telephones, computers etc.)EXUSE ME, we invented the telephone in CANADA! :))
-We all say oot and oboot (first time I heard this, I didn't even understand what the person was saying)
-We all speak French (No actually I speak English and Spanish, I know only a couple people fluent in French and they do not live in Canada)
-It always snows (Well that one is true for about three months of every year)
There are a lot more!
Yes, it does get really hot here in the summer, where I live it gets up to 40 °C/104 °F
I don't like maple syrup and soccer is my favourite sport, not hockey. Although I must say I do love hockey, but that's more because I find myself to be quite patriotic, I love Canada!

But this one I love, said from someone in the UK:
Canadians are a nice intelligent version of Americans
I love it, (sorry if offended my American friends, I disagree with this, we're just the same)

Or if your travelling and you meet someone and they ask you where your from and you say British Columbia, Canada. They reply "Oh yeah I know someone who lives in Toronto, Ontario." And your thinking well that's quite nice but it's 4492km away from where I live, about a six day drive.
It is completely different over there than it is here, I love how they just assume that they know.

But what I find hilarious (not to pick on you Americans again! I love you all :)) Is that a lot of them just have zero idea about Canada. One of my teachers told me this story of when he worked at the U.S/Canadian border. He said that One time he was talking to a couple who said they were just driving through Canada to get to Alaska (which Alaska I could bring up a whole new conversation about Alaska entirely!) so that they could visit their family. He asked them how long they thought they would be in Canada for. They replied "Oh just the afternoon." I hope I don't have to explain this one...

Sorry I know this has become sort of me complaining about Americans, but I'm really not haha I hope you know what I'm getting at here. I have family in the States, I love the States, just so we're clear on that! I just hope everyone sees what I'm getting at here. Next time you hear something about a certain country or even that being said a person or anything else, DO NOT BELIEVE IT, find out for yourself because it is usually 99% of the time not true!!! I'm not saying I'm perfect at this, I can name a few times I've thought dumb things about other countries, but I try not to do it anymore!!

Since I started out with 'I HATE', I'll say
I LOVE CLASSIFIED :)

Buenos Noches,
Kayla

The Bad Bus Ride

You know what makes me kind of mad? How the next generations are becoming more and more....
I don't know a word for it, there's lots actually, I'm not too sure if theres one word that sums it all up. There's not. One example, a couple days ago I was on the bus minding my own business, just waiting for my stop. It wasn't the best bus ride I've had, mostly because it was filled with annoying middle-schoolers. Not that I'm saying all middle-schoolers are annoying, but lately they aren't really proving me wrong.
So anyways I was sitting there when I hear some kid shout "Yeah! Like that cool poem in one of the twilight movies"(not that the book is good, but even so, your quoting the movie because you're too lazy to actually read something for once.) " You know the cool one about Fire And Ice??"
So I didn't even think about it for a second just kind of ignoring them, then I thought, wait what?! You are referring to one of the most amazing poems as "the one from twilight". Robert Frost being one of my favourite poets, I was about to turn around and give a full-fledged lecture about how you do not refer "Fire and Ice" as to being a poem from Twilight. And of all books, Twilight. Come on! I'm guessing they probably thought that Stephanie Meyer came up with it too.
But right then I just sucked in a breath and faced forward hoping I could get off as soon as possible and trying my best to ignore these kids so that I truly did not freak out on them. However the next thing that came out of some other kids mouth was
"Like OMG, you know the like song that OMG Puck sang last night? You know the one about Virginia? OMG what was it called. OH right Only the good die young. Like Glee is so amazing!" Or something like that. But that, now that made me really mad. Don't get me wrong I love Glee, but I know that they do not come up with these songs, a lot of the classics they sort of ruin, others are decent, but never ever never ever ever ever ever, do you refer to one of the best Singer/Song-writers as a song that was on Glee. If Billy Joel heard you, I'm sure he would have a few choice words for you. Well probably not. But my oh my kids these days!
I blame technology and parents. Not that I am not technology obsessed, I have a cell phone, iPad you know all of the like but quite honestly I wish stuff like this would have NEVER been invented! We would all be nicer, more respectful, probably smarter considering we use technology for everything now-a-days. Everyone relies on it way to much. We were quite fine thank you very much before all of this stuff. Not that I could give it all up and this is not because I couldn't live without it but the truth is, you can't. Society has made it so hard to not have your life revolve around all this stuff! It's quite horrible. Sometimes I just wish I was born in the sixties or something then I would just get a taste of life fully revolved around technology, but I would have lived in the good days too, the days where we did things without, screens or without texting. The days where you rode bikes for fun right up until you were in high school. Or you had to carry a boom box around to listen to music. But I won't drown you with my thoughts too much, and I should probably start my essay, seeing how it's ten pages due tomorrow and I'm not even half way finished!

Salut,
Kayla

Abracadabra!

Hola!

Today I learned that lethologica is the state of mind where you can not remember the word that you wanted!Well actually the correct definition(I just looked it up right now) is
Definition: the inability to remember a word or put your finger on the right word
I'm not really too sure the reason as to why I came across it but I did! Google is a magical place!

Yesterday my friend asked me a question that was quite simple and bland, you know, but it got me thinking. She said, "Where can you find a source for anything you want kind of videos other than YouTube." And I thought for a second, because of course I know of many other websites that provide things similar to what YouTube does but I really could think of anything better, or as good. Her question though was not really a question she said it more as a statement which was a realization to me as well as many other things. I'm still pondering...
But speaking of websites, I just recently experienced my first time on twitter when I really wanted a like button! Sometimes favouriting something just doesn't cut it. I mean there's a difference between something being a favourite and you liking something. I don't really want to favourite something like "Wait a second, shouldn't CarrotTop have green hair??" It just seems weird to favourite something like that but its something that totally deserves a like haha.
Which actually totally, yet randomly reminds me of "The Creep", have you guys seen that video by The Lonely Island yet? Its pretty funny, I think it's mostly because of Andy Samberg that it's so funny but most of what he does is funny! That's all I really wanted to talk about for now so...

Namaste, Ciao, So long, Farewell, Bon voyage, Live Long and Prosper, Cheerio!

My Week!

Hello everyone!

So I just thought I'd let you know whats going on, even though not much is!
I've been writing a lot lately, I'm almost done my second book! Maybe I'll get them published someday :)
I think I'm going to start writing one thing I learned a day, everyday. Maybe you guys could share something you learned as well? :)
Today I learned that nunca digas nunca means never say never in Spanish! ahaha

Lately, I've been really considering video blogging or vlogging, I think it would be fun but it would probably be on here because I've noticed some YouTube people are so mean! ahaha not that I would take it personally or anything, but it's kind of negative you know?

Soooo, I'll leave off with, tell me something about your week! It will probably be more interesting than mine so I wanna hear! :)

Lots of Love,
Kayla

P.S I thought the song on the page should be a little bit happier! :)
